DPU02 — USB-to-UART Bridge Controller

11/28/2025

The DPU02 is a highly integrated single-chip USB-to-UART bridge that provides a simple, minimal-component solution for upgrading legacy RS-232 designs to USB. It integrates a USB 2.0 full-speed function controller, USB transceiver, oscillator, EEPROM, and a full-featured asynchronous UART with modem control signals — all in a compact 5×5 mm QFN-28 package, requiring no external USB components.

On-chip EEPROM allows customization of VID, PID, product string, power descriptor, revision, and serial number. Programming is performed in-system via USB, enabling configuration during manufacturing or debugging.

Virtual COM port drivers make a DPU02-based device appear as a standard COM port on the host PC. In most legacy RS-232 designs, upgrading to USB is as simple as replacing the RS-232 level shifter with the DPU02.
